Discover the winners of the 2019 HERE Mapathon

The online final of the HERE Mapathon happened on December 12th, 2019.

After 3 months of competition and 1321 participants from 98 countries, the 10 top teams pitched their ideas to the HERE expert jury.

Read about the four winning teams, of this international competition, that challenged people from all over the world to create a map with HERE XYZ to present relevant data. The participants could select a topic of their choice while making sure that their project would have an impact on our society. We were amazed to see to what degree data visualization can make a difference for all of us.

The created maps visualize & compare menstrual hygiene education gaps, product availability & penetration in Pakistan so that relevant stakeholders can take collective and contextualized action.
This team focuses on the spatial and time pattern of forest fires in Indonesia, its level of fires, and its effects on the level of smoke haze pollution.
This team created a map to support the reduction of urban flood damages with optimizations and improvement of drainage systems. 
This map visualizes the extent of skyglow artificial light pollution across the United States in order to encourage communities to practice more sustainable lighting practices.
