#PIONIERGEIST wanted: Rethink and optimise the energy management of tomorrow!

Find out more about innogy

innogy SE is an established European energy company. With its three business areas of Renewables, Grid & Infrastructure and Retail, it is well equipped for the work ahead in a modern, decarbonised, decentralised and digital energy world. innogy wants to offer its existing and potential customers innovative and sustainable products and services to help them use energy more efficiently and improve their quality of life.

A leading European distribution system operator

The distribution systems form the backbone of the energy transition. The grids play a key role in integrating weather-dependent and intermittently generated renewables (like wind or solar power) and the output of decentralised generators to ensure security of supply.

One of Europe’s biggest electricity providers

innogy currently supplies reliable energy at a fair price to around 16 million power customers and seven million gas customers in eleven European countries. Based on our sales or the number of customers, we are currently one of the biggest providers of power and gas in Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. In four markets of Central Eastern and South Eastern Europe, innogy currently holds a leading position in the retail power and/or gas sector.

A key operator of wind farms in Europe

innogy plans, erects and operates plants for electricity generationx and production from renewable energy sources. Our goal is to expand renewables in Europe as quickly as possible on our own initiative and with partners. Together we will have the power to make the energy transition a success.

An employer with #PIONIERGEIST!

Career at innogy

What drives innogy?

innogy is the answer to the big trends that are changing the energy sector worldwide, and in Europe and Germany in particular: decarbonisation, decentralisation and digitalisation. These trends are reflected in its three key business areas of Grid & Infrastructure, Retail and Renewables.

Decarbonisation: The drive to reduce carbon emissions is a worldwide trend. Many countries in Europe have also committed to expanding renewables. The current focus is on electricity production and only to a lesser extent on heating and energy for the transport sector.

Decentralisation: Decentralisation of our energy systems would be unthinkable without digitalisation. Networking and automation are increasing at breakneck speed – for both grids and customers. They expect individual offers and interactive options – spawning new digital markets and services.

Digitalisation: Increasing volumes of power being fed into the grid from renewable sources presents big challenges for distribution system operators . To ensure ongoing security of supply, substantial investment is required in further development of smart grids.

Innoyou, hosting the challenge

The intrapreneurship program

As a practical experience programme, Inno You offers our employees the opportunity to develop themselves outside their jobs. Working in project teams of five to six people, participants might design an energy-related business model or optimise an existing model. In the process they must focus on customer wants and needs as well as the conditions of the market and the competition.

Within a few weeks, our employees transform from workers into innovators. This programme gives the employees the chance to channel their #PIONIERGEIST and moreover, it has given rise to a number of innovation concepts that innogy is now implementing as a prototype or pilot project.
