CITY ADMINISTRATION

Local and regional representatives and authorities play an important role in citizens everyday life: what part could you play?

While city decision makers are increasingly aware of the importance of an open innovation approach, they lack insights and ideas on how to benefit from the existing lighting infrastructure in their cities. For many years now, urban development have been structured so that every information related to trade, profession, neighborhood, buildings and so on is dealt separately and with different time horizon without considering the side-effects.

Our main objective: to pool our entire resources and collect big data and information using lighting networks! Think of the different city places: streets, roads, public buildings...and so much more! Our cities are just a huge playground for you to play and capture information, convince the administration and decision makers of what you could bring to their cities and what you could do!

CITY OPERATOR

Private and Public Services do their best to improve the City: what added value could you bring?

Smart city applications such as street lighting, smart parking, smart buildings and road traffic management are starting to be widely deployed around the world, improving city operations and quality of life, reducing costs and energy use and improving customer service. Their services tend to be set up as stand-alone applications, but the full benefits of a smart city will only be realized if these applications are able to share data, interface with other IoT applications to enable cross-department processes, and in turn ensure city operations are transparent across many groups!

Our main objective: to help city operators using the full potential of already existing systems. pool our entire resources and collect big data and information using using lighting networks! Think forward to create a future-proof city!

EVERY INDIVIDUAL

From households to white-collar workers, including students, everyone is concerned and in direct contact of the light: how would you create and increase their engagement? what data could you collect and what would you do with it?

Digital technologie, including IT, communication, the Internet of Things and sensors networks are working together to create intelligent urban infrastructures. With the data that these systems provide, cities are gaining new insights into services, operations and city life! How could you use the digital technologies to make everyone engagement most effective among the entire population?

Our main objective: to engage every citizens into participating actively in the development of a smarty city. Everyone needs to stop being passive and start being a real actor of their city.

EVERY CONNECTED THINGS

Think of every little things that surround us: from the bin on each street corner, to the huge buildings or cars, including your everyday items, everything has become “smart” and connected. How could you fully exploit them and the data they collect?

Consider “connected things” to be either small items or big infrastructures such as huge offices and building. These “connected things” are a real source of information and the data they provide, a mine gold for you to explore and create businesses and services out of them.

Our main objective: to get better value out every connected things and take advantage of them by collecting more data and explore more business and services opportunities and possibilities.

OTHER SMART IDEAS

Act at the service of the common good and feel free to propose ideas linked to IoT and lighting networks!

Your project does not fit into one of the above categories? Feel free to suggest any other smart ideas! But don’t forget, it will need to be focused on services and to be business oriented using lighting networks. Always keep in mind the following:

Smart cities use the latest innovations in the Internet of Things to become more livable, resilient, economically sound and sustainable. Smart sensors and other smart devices are distributed throughout the urban environment. These devices work together with an open, connected infrastructure to collect data about the environment, people and events. This data can be analyzed and share via software platforms and mobile apps to save energy, streamline operations and make citizens feel happier and safer!
