Business Case Competition 2017

Eureka Consulting Group

The Eureka Consulting Group (ECG) is a student-led social enterprise founded at the University of Hong Kong, which aims to help non-profits, social enterprises and small businesses in Hong Kong pro bono to innovate and grow by researching into specific problems they face and providing them with strategic recommendations.

We aim to provide our consulting services pro bono to organizations with social missions but unfortunately lack the financial means to afford them. The pro bono culture is ingrained in the foundation of ECG and is shared by all our members.

We believe that it is important to give back to society, to actively reach out and help nonprofit organizations, and to provide tailored solutions which have a direct social impact on our clients.

Organisational Diversity

Our broad spectrum of members, ranging from young undergraduates to experienced professionals and acclaimed scholars all from diverse cultures and backgrounds, allows for a fresh and unique perspective. Short and simple, we believe that organizational diversity is synonymous with operational creativity.

With this philosophy, we recruit smart, street-  smart, cognitively different and culturally sensitive talent from the pool of students at the University of Hong Kong. We couple our energetic young consultants with the invaluable experience and wisdom of distinguished industry professionals and scholars in our Advisory Board and mentorship program.

Our Structure

We are a private company limited by shares under the laws of Hong Kong. ECG also obtained tax-exempt status and registered as a charitable institution under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance.

ECG is a non-profit student-led consulting social enterprise founded at the University of Hong Kong. Our mission is to offer consulting services to non-profit organizations, social enterprises and small to medium sized enterprises (SMEs) which would otherwise be unable to afford professional consulting services. ECG harnesses the collective knowledge of students, scholars and industry professionals in order to deliver unique and innovative solutions to our clients. Our broad spectrum of members, ranging from young undergraduates to experienced professionals and acclaimed scholars, allows for a fresh and unique perspective that would otherwise be impossible with a set of homogeneous members. Short and simple, we believe that organizational diversity is synonymous with operational creativity.

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) International Consulting Club (ICC) was founded in August 2015, in the hopes of educating the HKUST student population and equipping them with the necessary skills and experience to enter the consulting industry.

The ICC is sponsored by the Business School of HKUST and offers a wide variety of resources for members including workshops for basic analytical tools, case interview preparation, and pro-bono consulting projects for real-world experience.

With members from diverse disciplines and over 15 different countries, the ICC gathers some of the brightest aspiring consultants around to enhance and aid companies locally and abroad.
