Circular Economy Challenge

Innovate in railway infrastructure activities through a transition from waste management to the creation of resources and material capital!

Your solution on circular economy needs to be…

Innovative

Do not be scared to get off the beaten track and to suggest original and innovative solutions!

Sustainable

Do not forget that your project must gather sustainable development, economic concerns and community contributions.

Doable

The purpose of the challenge is to select projects that can be implemented. Therefore, it is important that it is achievable by SNCF Réseau.

Detailed

The quality of your deliverables is an important criterion. The clarity and the fulfillment of instructions will be evaluated.

A 3 steps process

Step 1 - Registration & ideation

  1. Create or join a team, preferably multidisciplinary and including at most 5 students (you can answer alone but it is preferable to take up the challenge in teams) Each team describes its project in a 8-slide presentation thanks to the template available on the platform.
  2. Each team submits its file on its dedicated site before February 11th 2018, 11.59 PM!

Step 2 - Development & prototyping

After the announcement of the first stage results on February 20th 2018, the 10 selected teams will:

  1. Benefit of the support of an online coaching from SNCF experts via the platform.
  2. Detail their project following the coach’s advice (feasibility and technical development, cost evaluation, demonstration video, prototype...).
  3. Submit a completed file and a short presentation in 20 slides on the platform before March 11th 2018, 11.59 PM !

Step 3 - Working groups, pitch and award ceremony

After the selection by the second jury, March 21st 2018, the 4 finalists will have the chance to:

  1. Be prepared to the big final with the support of their coach as part of the « ateliers de convergence » (workshops in teams) which will take place at the SNCF Réseau headquarters.
  2. Present their projects in front of the SNCF managers, the next day, during the final of the circular economy of SNCF Réseau.
