Are you a developer, designer, strategist or project manager? CBC/Radio-Canada’s Hackathon 2019 is your chance to distinguish yourself and help shape the future of digital media. This friendly competition is also your opportunity to create a prototype focusing on content personalization in a friendly, cooperative format.
Because CBC/Radio-Canada’s services are all about Canadians, we're making content personalization a priority in order to secure our digital leadership in a constantly shifting media landscape. Not only does personalizing content improve our relationship with our audiences, who use our various platforms regularly, it also makes Canadians more likely to become recurring users. Combining relevant data and suitable technologies, personalization is an effective way to meet the needs of our audiences, boosting their level of satisfaction and engagement with digital products.

How can we promote user engagement and buy-in? What type of content personalization—and for which CBC/Radio-Canada digital products—would increase the product’s reach and the role of local communities?

- Content recommendations or specific alerts
- Personalized layout
- Personalized chatbot
Description of awards
The winning prototype will stand out because of its originality, code quality, positive impact, sustainability and scalability.
Each team member will receive an award valued at $2000.
Each team member of the winning team will receive an Xbox One and an award valued at $1000.
Each team member of the winning team will receive a PlayStation 4 and an award valued at $1000.
