Participation

You can sign up at https://www.agorize.com/en/challenges/europe-huawei-developer-competition-2022.

First click on “Create an account” and follow the instructions. Then click the blue “Participate” button on the platform to finalize your participant account. You can then submit your proposal!

You will receive a confirmation email upon registration.

When there is an update, you will receive an email from the admin on the Agorize platform and a notification at your provided email address. Please make sure you have clicked ‘Participate’ and check your junk mailbox!

To update your details, log in at https://www.agorize.com/en/challenges/europe-huawei-developer-competition-2022 and go to your participant profile to edit or change your details.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this competition, you (and all members of the team, if applicable) will need to:

  • Be at least 18 years of age or older
  • (Each) Register/have registered for a HUAWEI CLOUD account (Note: No credit card information is required, you may skip filling in the "Payment Methods / Add Card" page) *You may view the Basic Information page for your Huawei ID information
  • Demonstrate use of these key technologies in your proposal (Note: This challenge covers 12+ key technologies in EI, PaaS, IaaS, and database domains, among others). To be eligible, you/your team will need to use at least one key technology to innovate applications or solve real problems, on the basis that you are going to use HUAWEI CLOUD to build an application or website.
  • Students, startups and professionals from EMEA are welcome to apply to this competition

Developers are required to develop an application or solve realistic problems on HUAWEI CLOUD and use at least one of these key technologies.

No, but all members should have access to https://www.huaweicloud.com/eu/ so that they can use HUAWEI CLOUD resources.

Application Phase

You may join this competition as an individual, or in teams of 2-5. Please register for an account on the platform and submit the following:

  1. Information of individual/each team member (including contact information and consent to Privacy Notice of the competition)
  2. Consent to authorisation letter (Note: Please download and review the authorisation letter within the application form, and provide your consent as a team for the promotion of this competition)
  3. Team’s proposal (in English, PPT or PDF format) comprising the following (Note: You may download the proposal template uploaded within the application form as a guide to build your proposal):
    • Team introduction
    • Project introduction
    • Technical architecture
    • Functions
    • Innovations
    • Business value
    • Project planning
    • Achievements

You may download the proposal template uploaded within the application form as a guide to build your proposal, but you do not need to strictly follow it as long as you submit all the requested information within.

Yes. As part of the competition, each team will receive a USD 200 coupon code to be activated for purchase of the cloud service(s) they intend to use, via an email from the Huawei organising team. Please click here for a guide on how to activate the coupon code.

The deadline for submitting your completed application is 8 Feb 2023, 23:59h (UTC+1).

By the end of the Online Hacking phase, semi-finalist teams will need to submit the following:

  • Revised proposal deck refined with your mentor(s) (in English, PPT or PDF format)
  • A 5-minute video introducing your solution or the product, including its demo (Note: Can be a .mp4 file or URL)
  • Installation package, demonstration URL, or installation tool package
 
 

Online Hacking

Participants who will participate in the Online Hacking phase will be announced on 10 Feb 2023.

The semi-finalist teams will be attending a series of webinars and training sessions with Huawei technical experts to fully develop their product solutions and get mentorship on their proposals.

By the end of the Online Hacking phase, semi-finalist teams will need to submit the following:

  • Revised proposal deck refined with your mentor(s) (in English, PPT or PDF format)
  • A 5-minute video introducing your solution or the product, including its demo (Note: Can be a .mp4 file or URL)
  • Installation package, demonstration URL, or installation tool package

Announcement of the finalists will be made on 26 Feb 2023.

Final Event

The results announcement for the top 9 finalists will be made on 26 Feb 2023.

The Final Event will take place on 2 Mar 2023!
