Curious to hear what last year’s participants
are doing now?

In 2017, PepsiCo organized the first edition of the PepsiCo Go Trendsetter Challenge, an online brand competition that could lead to a position on our Digital and Insights teams. 690 participants entered the competition. Today, 9 out of the 30 finalists have started in our Digital & Insights program and an additional 10 hires were made in the wider business departments. Curious to hear what their journey has been like? And how they are doing today? Hear from some of our graduate finalists below:

Last year, the PepsiCo GO Trendsetter Challenge was piloted in 3 countries, UK, Spain and France. The European Finals were held in our headquarters in the United Kingdom. This year we’re expanding the challenge from 3 to 9 countries to connect the graduates to a true international network. (Participating countries in 2018: Spain, Belgium, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Romania, Serbia, Greece, Russia & South Africa).

Please meet our 2017 finalists:

Georgina Farmer – UK Insights Winner during Finals in May 2017 with Tim Warner Insights VP Europe & Sub-Saharan Africa and Becky Taylor Digital Sr. Director Europe & Sub-Saharan Africa

Georgina Farmer

originally studied languages at the University of Bristol and joined our Insights department in September 2017.

"Looking back at the challenge, it is fair to say that as with everything we do at PepsiCo, this challenge was designed and implemented with passion, pragmatism and drive.

It truly raised the bar on how PepsiCo attracts Graduate Talent and I could not have predicted that it would be such a positive experience. Even if I had not got the position at the end of it, I would have thoroughly enjoyed the process’. Today, seeing the function in action has made me realise just how crucial it is to the success of any organisation. Everybody in my team has followed a different route into the Insights function, bringing experience from different fields, which creates a great platform for diverse thinking and learning."

Zanzi Garnett Spear – Spain Digital Winner on her first day onboarding
@PepsiCo in Sept 2017.

Zanzi Garnett Spear

studied International Business Management at Lancaster University and moved from UK to Spain to join PepsiCo’s Digital team in September 2017.

"The onboarding week was filled with information! We had five induction days during which we learnt about PepsiCo and our teams. It was a great bonus having our onboarding with graduates, from other departments, helping us to build a cross-functional network from the start and making us feel supported. We also learnt a lot about ourselves in an interesting – and revealing – HR session. In the Digital Communications team, we’re discovering the future while we are actually creating it; working closely with key media agencies and innovative companies which are transforming what selling Snacks and Beverages means.

Personally, I couldn’t be more excited. I didn’t expect to find such an entrepreneurial spirit in a company as big as PepsiCo. The bold ambitions, plus our Performance with Purpose values, makes me realize what a great opportunity we have."

Additional feedback from our 2017 finalists:

"If there is one thing that I saw from this challenge journey is the incredible environment and positive culture present in the company."

"Seems like a lot of role models at PepsiCo for me to learn from. You and PepsiCo are leading the pack!"

"Feeling the atmosphere and the culture has been very inspiring. Thank you for your time and for the opportunity, it's been definitely well-worthy flying from so far from Australia!"

"We felt part of the family from day one – and maybe that’s what PepsiCo is all about."

"It’s great to see how international PepsiCo is, and how this international outlook enriches the work of the team on a daily basis."

"My expectations have been blown out of the water – I can’t believe the scale of the projects I’m heading, the continuous training nor the immeasurable support. It’s been incredible so far."

"I can honestly say I have already learnt more than I did in all of my internships combined."
